#1 sales skill
Have you ever thought about what it means to really listen?
And......why am I asking the question?
Listening is probably the most important sales skill in a sales professional's tool kit. Not to mention it is a skill that can be honed and should be practiced but far too often is overlooked.
It is more common that sales professionals practice their pitch and their message when in actuality if the time was taken to hone listening, results would follow.
With that in mind, here is a "really listening" practice check list:
☑️ Keep your mind 100% focused on what the other person is saying and do NOT think about what you are going to say next.
☑️ Reflect back to the person you are listening to what you understand to make sure what you understand is what they are communicating.
☑️ Listening is non-verbal as well so make sure you are looking directly at the person and giving non-verbal cues that you are indeed listening.
☑️ Listen with genuine interest. Truly seek understanding and be curious.
