sales is not a dirty word

Whether you want to accept it or not, we all have to sell.

When you have to convince a colleague to join a project, you're selling.

When you are interviewing for a job, you're selling.

When you are a business owner representing your company, you're selling.

And on, and on...

Now, I personally love sales but I didn't always. When I started out, I had heard and absorbed many negative stereotypes around the profession.

Not knowing where you fall on the love / hate continuum of sales, I have a major tip.

BE CURIOUS!

Leave your agenda at the door. Seek to understand the person you need to sell to. If you are curious about their needs and their challenges, you will learn so much.

You will build a real relationship because you are generally interested in understanding.

Sales is not a dirty word. Sales is an amazing profession when approached with integrity, authenticity and a curious mindset.
