Have you stopped and taken the time to memorize anything lately?

As a singer, I am constantly memorizing lyrics. What I've learned and that isn't as obvious to everyone is the extreme value of memorizing something. When you have fully committed something to memory, that is when you can start to add color and feeling. You don't have to think about what you are doing. You go fully into the moment and create an experience for you and those interacting with you.

One of the biggest places this can add value in the professional sense is memorizing your personal professional story. This is the story you share when you are briefly connecting with someone new and trying to make yourself memorable and begin building a relationship.

So, write that story. Commit it to memory fully. Yes, MEMORIZE it! Then as you share, add all the personal color and feeling to create an experience of you. That experience makes you memorable.
