Emotions are seen as out of place in the professional world. That is a problem.

Kindness is viewed as a weakness in the professional world. That is a problem.

We need to embrace the fact that we are all human beings with emotion and feeling. We can't check our humanity at the door in order to get the job done. Our feelings and emotions impact our work in meaningful ways, either positively or negatively.

Emotions, feelings and kindness are not weaknesses. They are strengths that can be used to complement our professions.

If we return to Maya Angelou's quote, how you make others feel will be remembered. People work, collaborate and buy from people they like. Being kind and fully you, emotions and feelings included will differentiate you and lead to your success.
