Being present....

People talk about being present so often when it comes to mental well being and artistic process but you don't often hear about the importance of being present in the sales context.

I'd argue that it is one of the core differentiating characteristics of successful sales professionals.

If you want to have a conversation and understand and connect, all integral to sales success, you must be present in the moment. Your mind can't be wandering. You can't be worried about what you want to say. You have to be there in the moment with the other individual connecting, understanding and being truly present.

The next time you are working on skills for your sales success, I highly suggest practices that help you with being present. It might be some meditation or maybe yoga. These small practices that bolster your ability to be present in the moment can contribute in a big way to your sales success.
